Diego studied architecture, focusing on projects with a distinct cultural edge such as cultural centres, libraries, galleries, and museums. His degree thesis featured a Museum for Non-Conventional Art—a project that provided him with a valuable, foundational understanding of how the art market operates from its intellectual side.

Following his studies, Diego ran a commercial gallery for a few years located within the Museo Sacro in Caracas, Venezuela. The conceptual origin of Diego Correa Art Space can be traced directly back to this period.

When the gallery closed following a major donation of contemporary artwork to the museum, Diego expanded his expertise. He worked as a freelance curator for several institutions in Venezuela. He collaborated with Lihie Talmor and Mercedes Pardo in Venezuela on specific projects, and served as an art producer for Jimmy Amaral in Colombia and Alí Cordero Casal in Venezuela. Additionally, he worked as an archivist cataloguing a private art collection and as an independent art dealer.

In addition to directing Diego Correa Art Space, Diego currently runs an interior design practice and shares his insights on art through his dedicated Instagram account. He is driven by the firm belief that art and the work of artists must be dissected and held accountable based on what is actually achieved—the tangible outcome of the work. For Diego, the absolute freedom to share an honest opinion is what embodies the true nature of art: genuine expression, honesty, and transparency.
